About how much money does someone need in a lifetime?

I was wondering how much someone needs to make a living in a lifetime or at least within maybe an 8-year period. My parents are such liars and always cause complications in my life. It would be helpful to find a number I need. I wish I could just move out of the house. I'm 14, and I figured 8 years since I should finish 4 years of college by then. Thanks.

You can live extremely cheaply. I've lived off of $12K a year before, but that only pays rent lights water and a bit of food. I biked to work. As far as school is concerned go to a community college. Its way cheaper than a 4yr. Most offer 2 yr transferable degrees. My community college charged about $300/class for 20 classes for a 2yr degree thats about $6,000. Financial aid and scholarships should cover all of that.

Tough it out at home until you graduate HS, if you dont you will set yourself up for a lifetime of financial failure.

Huh? Your question iv very vague and does not make much sense.

The typical person needs between $30,000 and $40,000 a year to live a basically average life. It really depends on where you live and your lifestyle.

To rent a one bedroom apartment you are looking at $300 and up per month. In most places it will be $500 or so. That means you are looking at $3,600 to $6,000 a year just for rent.

Utilities run another $100 to $400 a month depending on how you live. Cable, A/C, phone, internet, alarm system, water, etc.

Food costs a minimum of $100 a person per week. Then you have insurance, health expenses, clothing, transportation, rental insurance, car insurance, gifts, dental care, etc.

You are asking how much you need to live for 8 years. Most people don't store up 8 years of expenses, then live off of them, they work while they live.

Using the numbers above, if you wanted to stovkpile 8 years worth of expenses you'd need at least $200,000.

Oh year, then you said you planned to go to college during this. If you go to a state four-year school, that will run you about $10,000 to $20,000 per year. Since you said four, you'd need to tack on another $40,000 to $80,000 to that number I mentioned earlier. That means you'd need a minimum of $240,000 and more likely $300,000 to live on for eight years if you were attending school for four of those years.

You can cut a lot of this down if you have a roomate.
