the people who live in the apartment below me keep doing drugs. i reported them to landloard and police. i been documenting their loud bass and drugs and giving them to the landlord. when i the last bit of doucmentation to the landlady tuesday, she didnt open it right there, but i been complainig about them all summer. i said ' i hope im not bothering you by turning in all this documentation. " she said that "this will help right up until the end". and then she said " I got the sherrif coming to evict two more today and sometimes i can get them to leave w/ out going to court." She didnt say WHO particularly she was speaking about. theyve been much quieter down there but smell their stinky bean stinking diner i know there still down there. this is five days after the landlady said all that. were they evicted?

I'm thinking no eviction.

You've complained all summer, yet they were not evicted.

The sheriff came, but not for them.

Landlady unspecific and noncommittal. Sounds like she can/will do nothing and/or is humoring you.

"...sometimes...w/o going to court." Hasn't and doesn't want to go to court.

They're quieter but still cooking and last but not least: "...i know there still down there."

If they were evicted, they would not need to make an effort to be quiet. That sounds like they are trying to comply with the landlady giving them a warning about the noise.
I may be wrong, but it does not sound like the landlady has gone to court to file for eviction. Maybe they pay their rent on time and your complaints are not enough to evict them.

Where I live, the landlord gives a written 5 day notice of eviction, files for eviction at the courthouse, and a sheriff comes out to post a 24 hour eviction notice on the door. 24 hours later the door is padlocked, by the sheriff, and a tape is pasted against the door opening. I edited a little.
