Do I get a Masters or learn Spanish?

was at the same job for the last 5 years or so working with a gov't contractor. Now that I'm back in the job market I am noticing a lot of employees want bilingual employees. I have been told over and over I'm not being hired bc I do not know Spanish although I have impeccable qualifications (obviously not). This puts me in a predicament as I wanted to go back to school and get my Masters.

Now I feel like education does not mean squat anymore bc they are willing to overlook experience and education if you know Spanish! I'm happy I squandered almost 100k on student loans!

What should I do now? Do I just forget the Masters and take Spanish?

I am seriously confused as I thought education was the way to go, now I'm not too sure!

You are overstating the need to be bi-lingual. Get your masters and learn Spanish. It's a no-brainer.

Depends. If you're doing a "skilled trade" like being a clerk that interacts a lot with clients in southern California, then Spanish is probably the way to go. If you live in Main and want to pursue a career in teaching mathematics, get your degree. Personally I would take higher education over a new language just because it is more interesting.
