my new job. first job might i add.
i know everyone feels like an idiot starting off coz they don't know how to do a thing, and you might hate the people you work with.
its taken me ages to get a job. and its in fast food. gross.
i go home smelling so bad i want to cry. my manager is a cow and a half and screams at me when i get things wrong.
NOBODY i work with is slightly welcoming or even a teeny bit nice to me. i'm a noob at what i do atm and i accept that. Customers scream at me. i seriously get sworn at like i've never heard.
and i'm on THE shi*test pay (coz of training, which i also accept) but i'm on training pay for 4 months.

no one seems to have the patience for my learning and its really hard for me to keep that bloody fake smile on. i want to cry at work and i just break down when i get home. it all i think about, controls my whole week because i spend ALL my time fearing/worrying/DREADING my next shift.

tell me what you think i should do. you can be mean, i don't care.
just need your opinion.

thanks x

p.s i can't really give you a proper perspective and i know its a lot of complaining but you HAVE to trust that i'm not overreacting.

if this is your first ever job then everything is going to be new to you i suggest you stick it out for a little bit longer and try your best to make friends with the other workers and see how it goes but if your still not happy then look else where for other work but don't leave this one or else any future employer will think your a quitter good luck keep your chin up and look on the bright side of things

I can completely understand your situation.

I am in the exact same situation as you. Including the dreading of the next shift - even if it's days away!

Please try to stick it out if possible, if not just leave... if it's causing you too much upset and you can leave. Do it, but make sure you wont regret it :)

If you can stick it out, try to look for another job too... It's easier to get a job when your already working.

I feel for you, and trust me, I understand. I worked my first job at Chick-Fil-A For about a month. At first, It was fine because I was excited just tot have my first job, make money, and learn new things. However, I was given less than a day worth of training until I was put on the register. The people who worked with me were around my age, and not very welcoming or nice. Not that they were mean, but they didn't go out of their way to socialize with me either. I hated that. Also, my manager was constantly, AND I MEAN CONSTANTLY on me about stupid things like saying hello to a customer as soon as the door opens (SMH) or a cup falling on the ground by accident. After about a month and some change, I was let go because they claimed that my register was short three times. How, I don't know. Some people said that they are shady about the issue, so I feel like I was unfairly let go. Anyways...

I'd say, hang in there for about another month. If nothing changes, and you still feel uncomfortable, I'd STRONGLY suggest that you find another job. And why have you been in training for 4 MONTHS? That's way too long. I know how it feels to work at a job you can't stand. Your whole mood changes, and there is nothing worse than having to show up somewhere you don't want to be. If you still need further advise, message me. I'd be glad to help because I know how you feel.

Stick it out for awhile and if it's still bad in a month or so start looking for a new job. There are other jobs (well...depending on where you live, some places have no jobs) that will make you feel more welcome and offer better pay. Four months on sucky training pay does not sound fun- especially when it's a fast food job! It's fast food, it's not like you're selling phones or cars or insurance! That's crazy that you're on training pay for that long.

I believe that you're not overreacting, and it's not just because you're new to the work force- this really is how crappy jobs can be. At the same time, there are really good jobs, even for younger people with little experience.

So my advice: stick with it a little while longer until you get more comfortable with your job. Once you do you might find others a little more pleasant (yes, even the evil customers) and learn how to handle these situations better. If it doesn't get better continue looking for other jobs.
