I have a presentation in 2 weeks on a topic related to business. Any ideas? Something not complicated. I was thinking to do a presentation on HOW TO START YOUR OWN BUSINESS, but i would appreciate some more ideas! Thanks in advance. Cheers

Just a few ideas:
The importance of communication. (Understanding what customers want, telling customers what you can offer and how it meets their needs, persuading financial backers to support the business (e.g. banks), organising and motivating employees, co-ordinating the business ... and so on). The Balance Sheet: A guide to what it tells you. (You could talk about how much money is tied-up in the business, where it came from and how it is being used ... and maybe mention a couple of business ratios and explain what they tell you, based on balance sheet data.) How can a profitable business run out of money. (You could talk about the difference between profit and cash flow and about working capital management). Health and Safety at Work. (You could mention the main laws, what is meant by health and safety, who is responsible for health and safety at work, the 3 or 4 main obligations on an employer, and the role of the Health & Safety Executive). An Introduction to Contracts. You could talk about what makes something a contract, the essential elements of a contract (with brief examples from case law), why you might not have a valid contract when you thought you had, and different ways a contract might 'die' (execution, breach etc.) Good luck. |
