The best life insurance you can get online is TERM LIFE INSURANCE. It's easy to understand and very cheap. If you want something else, call the local agent.

You will probably have less trouble by buy from a LOCAL agent.
My recommendation is to call a LOCAL agent and have him/her do a free Financial Analysis (FNA), or other Total Need program, to help you determine in your own mind how much coverage you need, and what type of policy, to fulfill your personal goals and objectives. You don't get that kind of service online. The FNA will also help you determine if you need Disability Income Protection, to pay a monthly benefit should you be injured or ill and can't work. It will also help you determine if you need a tax shelter, such as an Individual Retirement Account (IRA) to provide additional income at retirement. (All that will be there when you get there is what you send on ahead.) According to statistics, disability is a greater risk than death prior to age 65. The best companies you can buy from are the ones that have an A.M. Best Company rating of A- or better. A.M. Best is an independent rater of insurance companies, and has been in business since 1899. Their highest ratings are as follows: A++ (Superior), A+ (Superior), A (Excellent), A- (Excellent). If any agent tells you that one type of policy is better than another without doing an FNA, he/she is doing you a disservice. The FNA will help YOU make up YOUR OWN MIND of what type or combination of types, and how much, after you have gained the knowledge of total needs, and how to solve them. The agent who does the FNA or the like, will be a professional, and give you several options of how to solve YOUR need, based on YOUR wants and YOUR desires. Any agent who just tells you that you need this or that, or you should buy this or that, without doing the FNA is not a professional, but a policy peddler. Best wishes. |

Well, unless you're buying a guaranteed issue low value policy, you can't buy it completely online.
You have to fill out the application, and submit to a paramedical exam. As to what's "best". How do you define best? With life insurance, you have to define the job you want it to do. Then, the BEST policy is the one from an A rated carrier, at the lowest price, that gets the job done. |

The price that policies are sold online are the same rate you'd get through a broker. Find a broker to get you a good policy.
